Really really love this gorgeous little cafe in Dulverton. Always delicious food, great vegan/vegetarian choices and all local produce. Mortimers is the only cafe open on a Monday and can be busy but the lovely, young hardworking girls are efficient and pleasant and make fabulous barista coffee!! The food is well worth the wait. Highly highly recommend

Mad Hatters Tea room is open at this location serving tasty hot food including all day breakfasts and tempting cakes. Great value the breakfasts were so good we came back for more (and left with take away cake)! Highly recommended.

Absolutely delightful food, freshly prepared. Good sensible safety measures too. The burger was cracking. The salmon and herb omelette the same. and the high tea... well see the photos! Perfect.

Updated 20240719: Joy of joys, the originals are back after the break last year. Fantastic food, great choice of cakes, fabulous coffee and tea. Highly recommended, go visit this place and fill your boots with culinary goodness. Note that the burgers come without chips, so you can fill up with cake afterwards if - and that's a big if - you still have room. Originally: Such a good place to be. We stopped off for a cup of tea and coffee first, then did done shopping, and then went back for lunch. The BBQ Moo burger, a wonderfully cooked through slab of meat nestled within a rustic brioche (yes, brioche, not ciabatta) with a delightfully spicy mango chutney, was fabulous. The spinach and mushroom omelette was herby and filling and came with three little pickles and chutneys (beetroot, mango, and a curried onion one) and was delicious. Topped off with a couple of elderflower pressees and a good meal was had. Service was slow but then all the tables were taken it being lunchtime. If you were in a rush, then go before 12 or after 1330. But if you are happy chatting and working out what to do next, and wondering if you could fit in a sliver of one of the amazing cakes afterwards, then this relaxed family- and dog friendly place is for you. Did I mention the cafetiere coffee is to die for? It has a soul of its own, and lets you know it's there while still in the pot. A single sniff will wake the dead, enliven your tongue, and bring colour to your cheeks. Hugely recommended.
